SG Iron Casting — also known as Spheroidal Graphite Iron Casting or Ductile Iron Casting — is a type of cast iron in which the graphite is present in a nodular or spheroidal form rather than the flake form found in grey cast iron. This unique structure is achieved by adding a small amount of magnesium or cerium to molten iron, which modifies the graphite as it solidifies.
